Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

EPG is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design industrial control panels, wiring plans, ladder logic schematics, set up telecommunication devices, power generators and other electrical equipment and systems.  May include setup, programming, and testing of PLCs. Will use their knowledge of math, science and physics to develop & design reliable products and controls for pumps, blowers, compressors, flowmeters, pressure sensors, and other liquid or air handling equipment.  Work with sales staff, applications specialists, and other engineers to determine the needs of the client, and research manufacturing processes and technical developments to find possible solutions.  Will oversee prototype development, test products for safety, and adjust them to meet electrical/UL codes and safety standards.

 

General Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Designing electrical control panels and connected field equipment.
  • Troubleshooting electrical problems with products or systems.
  • Installing, servicing, calibrating, and updating electrical systems.
  • Repairing or replacing faulty electrical parts of a product.
  • Writing instructions for field users to install equipment.
  • Specifying bills of materials for control panels and other electrical designs
  • Calculating and inspecting electrical loads for safe use
  • Using 2D CAD to design ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and component layouts.
  • Writing programs for programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

 

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Associate Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Experience: 2-3 years of electrical or related experience
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred Experience: 5 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably industrial control design, including PLCs

 

Skills

  • In depth understanding of electrical systems and engineering
  • Familiarity with electronics, sensors, and signal types (4-20ma, etc)
  • Familiarity with design concepts, procedures and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to abide by UL508A, NFPA70, & IEC standards
  • Ability to read and design ladder logic diagrams
  • AutoCAD LT and MS Office experience
  • (Optional) Programming ladder logic software such as Cscape (Horner PLCs)

Job Type: Full-time

Wage: $25.00 minimum- commensurate with applicable experience and education
